Photo love letter to our home

In one week we’ll say goodbye to our beloved house. I can truly say I’ve loved this little home every day of the ten and a half years we’ve lived here.

It’s been a sanctuary for us and, we hope, for others. We’ve shared many precious times around the table with friends and family, cozy fires in the fireplace, cookouts and corn hole games in the backyard, sunlight that streams through all the windows, and snowy nights in.

Before this home, the longest I’d lived anywhere was 3 years.

God is moving us to a new neighborhood in our city, and we’re excited for the adventure that lies ahead. But today I want to share this photo love letter to our home. (I’m too exhausted from packing to write anything eloquent…)

Our “Jackie Hope Tree” planted in Spring 2021, before we moved to Arkansas for four months so our daughter Jackie could get specialized treatment for her nerve condition. This photo is from 2024.

“Myrtle,” the crepe myrtle tree we planted in 2017, in all her glory

Jackie’s last meal in our home before returning to college (her favorite: Mussakhan chicken, hummus, and za’atar roasted veggies)

And, finally, a sneak peak at our new neighborhood! (Still searching for the right house…)
